About

Jon Pye is a Melbourne-based Architect who has been designing low energy housing for over twenty years. He has been running his own practice and holding positions in several prominent practices in Australia and the Pacific including Senior Architect at Habitech and Government Architect for Kiribati.

The practice employs a combination of Passive House and Passive Solar principles to design houses which can switch between these two modes.  This flexibility allows us to manage the inherent conflict between highly sealed buildings and their disconnection from the environment. Our houses can either open or close to suit the external conditions and take advantage of the design opportunities each site and project presents. They are strongly connected to their site and the sun, and typically produce more energy than they use.
